There's a cacophony of magpies that have taken objection to my cat.
The raucous is there when you come home, 3 to 5 of them in the tree, the hedge, overhanging the eavestrough, all venting their displeasure at my cat.
The cat meows as if she doesn't know what she's done to offend them. Probably she has offended them, stalked the wrong one, they're not giving up.
She curls next to me on the front step and by association now I'm the next target, the ongoing cackling and jeering, swooping in, near and nearer, marching up the lawn in concert they chase her indoors.
And when she sits on the chest in front of the window they parade up and down the sidewalk, still scoffing and gibing, she can only sit on the windowsill and click...
