The Journal of Universal Rejection - their tenets as follows:
You can send your manuscript here without suffering waves of anxiety regarding the eventual fate of your submission. You know with 100% certainty that it will not be accepted for publication. There are no page-fees. You may claim to have submitted to the most prestigious journal (judged by acceptance rate). The JofUR is one-of-a-kind. Merely submitting work to it may be considered a badge of honor. You retain complete rights to your work, and are free to resubmit to other journals even before our review process is complete. Decisions are often (though not always) rendered within hours of submission.

The Wikipedia Knowledge Dump (or WikiDumper.org) is that heaven for articles that don't meet Wikipedia's exacting standards. While they frequently conform to the syntax of an ideal Wiki article, they are often of an extenuating self promoting nature (note the number of porn star biographies) or simply don't meet Wikipedia's rigorous standards.

What is easily forgotten is that scientists are frequently rejected as well. Unfortunately for them, it's usually not until their theories have been current for a few hundred years or so. Maybe fortunately, as they get to collect royalties the whole time ...
Anyways, here's a link to some of the fabulous beasts that, according to some, once existed upon the earth. According to others they still do, but that's a separate posting. In any event they've landed in the "rejected" section because their theories or illustrations are no longer taken seriously by mainstream science.

Ah, even with all the educational qualifications of a Environmental Microbiologist there is still the possibility of rejection. Especially if you decide to stay on at a University, where the focus is "Publish, Publish, Publish..."
Here are some of the more amusing/scathing reviews of work submitted to the peer reviewed journal of Environmental Biology.
"This paper is desperate. Please reject it completely and then block the author’s email ID so they can’t use the online system in future."
"The biggest problem with this manuscript, which has nearly sucked the will to live out of me, is the terrible writing style."
"The writing and data presentation are so bad that I had to leave work and go home early and then spend time to wonder what life is about."
"The finding is not novel and the solution induces despair."
Read more here. Sadly I have no word on happy endings, and quite possibly the authors, despite their education, deserved this.
