And, on the whirlwind 1 day tour of Calgary and Drumheller with the daughter and boy I find time to take them to the late show, my choice, "Sorry To Bother You". Which was the best movie I've seen in a long time, it had something to say, wasn't made for commerce, it's the perfect dystopian take on Trump's America, absurd, but only slightly, hilarious, but darkly, and far, far more uncomfortable and incisive than the trailer would lead you to believe. Very worthwhile. I'd give it 11 out of 10 stars.

The week before last, a day trip, check out a few prospects. Back to where I found the Beryl's, back into the hole, digging, into the sunlight to comb through the rock, break it up, look for those gemmy bits of green and blue...
When, finally, reaching into the hole I pull out this:
an inch and a half wide at the base, maybe 3 inches high, the color is hidden, it will need some work but an amazing specimen, ...
It will need polishing to see if there are any translucent bits, but all that time I've been wasting looking for those small shards when dig deeper and there are pieces like this?
Back to the hole...

At work, the chefs' girlfriend has been selling her dreamcatchers, finely beaded little spirals hung with feathers and leather thongs.
Jealous of her success, I came up with my own "indigent artist" crafts project to sell in the restaurant: The Kootenai Mancatcher. Tradition has it that when a Kootenai girl came of age and found herself single, she'd assemble a mancatcher from a pair of her choicest knickers and hang it upon her schoolbus or trailer to demonstrate her availability ....
Only $60.
