And other finds these past couple of weeks, a beaded and macramed leather belt with an open fringed end that looks as if it was worn to Woodstock. Probably it was, who would remember? I need some accessories to pair it with...$1.00.
And a pair of leather, knee high riding boots, guessing ex RCMP (no manufacturer printed), $8.00, the perfect accessory to my saddle...

"OUR STORY
of
ATLANTIS
Written down for the
HERMETIC BROTHERHOOD
and
THE FUTURE RULERS
of
AMERICA"

This could be good. Real good. File under intellectual treasure. The cover displays the Society's logo, pressed in gilt:
To describe it as follows: A braided rope around a triple embossed triangle, within the triangle a winged globe flies beneath a skull and crossbones. Above the pyramid a ships anchor on the left and a fiery lantern on the right (guessing). The word (Acronym?) TRY is embossed beneath the pyramid...
Reading it ... I know, old school, old book, paper and all, but I have to read it...
PG 27: "It is a conceded fact there have never been, since the fall of Atlantis, so many reincarnated Atlantians upon the earth at the same time as now. This accounts for the almost universal demand out of the Astral records for the forgotten knowledge of the Occult which they there recorded."
I mean, start from here and where do you go?...
The praising and description of Atlantis doesn't end, there are numerous bad verses and odes describing Atlantis as the Garden of Eden, the lost repository of mankind's knowledge, words alone won't do it justice, you need verse, music, paintings...there are references to Lemuria, Mu, all these places are referred to as accepted fact, every printed travelers tale is taken as gospel and embellished upon by the enthusiastic narrator, lost and secret cities in Mexico, carefully kept hidden from western eyes, lost civilizations found deep within distant jungles or subterranean caves, various theories propounded for the differences in race (we each were cooked at varying times in the suns intensity...I'm not making this up...)
I'm not even halfway done and I'm loving it, it's Edgar Rice Burroughs reported as fact, the ultimate attempt to unify every batshit theory, myth, conspiracy and legend...
With this book, this Bible, I will become the King and Pope of Nelson...
An old house on a hill over an Artesian Spring

I'm at a festival of sorts, for children, old houses, well kept, line the street, there are clowns and mimes and jugglers and there's someone with a sparkler...
It's some sort of children's festival, I don't know where, only that people have come from as far away as Philadelphia for it, and I'm thinking they must be perverts, only that I'm reassured they're not, it's just that good a festival...
...On the top of a small hill, my house, old, perhaps a couple of stories high, and I'm inside, upstairs, when I see the walls begin to break apart, the drywall is crumbling as if it were being eaten by ants or termites, the same patterns crumbling the walls, ...
...And I'm shouting to the people inside (the children) to get out, the house is going to collapse, it was built above an Artesian Spring and the crumbling I was seeing was the water percolating up through the drywall...
...A couple escape, the house, it falls to pieces, the drywall and walls have been entirely dissolved, a couple of people I didn't know were inside, they pick themselves up from the ground, pull aside the black plastic (Vapor barriers?), they were hidden in the walls, I check and they're OK...
Overwhelmed...

Really, with my schedule and all it's a miracle I get anything done. And with the new addition of a social calendar I've been getting pretty much nothing done. Friend comes over for coffee, sees the same pile of tents, sleeping bags and prospecting equipment that's been piled up in the kitchen for the last 2 1/2 months, sees the desk and vacuum left splayed (unconvincingly) across the living room floor and tells me I'm deranged...she's not going to take off her boots.
...she's at the other extreme, her house, cleaned top to bottom twice a week, whether it needs it or not. Equally deranged in my books, I have the same rhythm, just yearly, and she caught me at the wrong end of the cycle. I've got to clean up, it's starting to oppress me, weigh upon my soul...
...I used to have a live in maid, gave her a room for free if she'd clean, only I wouldn't let her clean the bedroom or my desk and I refused to unpack all the boxes I had stacked in the kitchen and after a time she began to feel a bit overwhelmed herself and decided she'd prefer to pay rent and so moved out...
...and when I finish the cleaning there's the stack of paper notes by the computer, books to read, projects to complete, cleaning has always been at the low end of my priorities, and I realize that I'm starting to feel a little overwhelmed...
