And there are these, looted from the archeological sites in Sarmizegetusa Regia - Romania. Most of the bracelets weighed in at over 2 pounds (or around 1 kilogram) - of solid gold - and 12 were recovered from the looters, 12 remain missing. Apparently they were discovered in a chest underneath a large rock. Read more here on the National Geographic Website.

Time is a bit precious this weekend and I'm busy discovering how much I don't know. I've long suspected my ignorance, but am discovering just now the full breadth of it. Anyways, in the spirit of good sportsmanship I'll refer you to the PLoS Blogs Network, which offers "Diverse Views on Science and Medicine". Well, from what I've seen not exactly but there are a wide variety of well informed opinions and good writing. Enjoy. I'll catch up Monday with a vengeance, I promise....

Link: Art By the Famous Mentally Ill, NY Times Article that argues the link between creativity and mental illness, An article from the American Journal of Psychiatry that disproves psychiatrists can diagnose mental illness based on artwork, Wiki on Savants and finally, a favorite painting below by Richard Dadd. Food for thought and dessert for the eyes...
