Retablos are simply a synonym for Ex-Voto, but as I've derived so much enjoyment from the first set I linked to I thought I'd link to some more on eBay.
(Keywords on eBay are very important, so having a variety of synonyms for the item you're looking for can be useful in acquiring a bargain...)
eBay search Retablo (click here).
One my son would appreciate, a woman giving thanks to a Saint for ridding her house of giant spiders....

I'm trying to find the name of a murdered grade 6 teacher. I don't know why, only that there's some teachers behind me that want to know, and all I remember is that it was some years ago and she was kind of cute. She wasn't my teacher, but my son knows who it is, he thought she was cute as well, and I'm online googling her but not having any luck.
My father's there, he knows who I'm searching for but he thinks I should just leave it, it's not important....
On my computer the Google main search screen keeps changing, now it's orange and covered in stupid widgets, in the bottom left corner there's Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men, they're talking, joking and hamming it up and while I remember adding Robin Hood to my widgets I don't remember adding the merry men, and clicking on him close them up and they all disappear. It's a distracting screen to work from, orange, all sorts of irrelevant gadgets and add-ons, it looks like a late 90's webpage or a teenage girl's MySpace page, bizarre, and still I can't find what I'm looking for, she was murdered by a cabbie I think...
At a loss

2 days off in a row and I find myself at a loss as to what to do.
I've already napped, done the dishes (1st time in 3 weeks), made the bed (1st time in a month), cleaned the bathroom, took out the garbage and recycling, fed the cat, there's more but I kind of feel that's enough....
There was the early evening trip to Kensington, had a bite to eat, coffee, read FFWD, the new Banksy film looks good but that's one to take the boy to, home and it's yet early.
Now there are umpteen million books to be read, rooms to be cleaned, paintings to be begun, websites finished, a 1.5 litre bottle of Masi Campofiorin to be drunk (given to me by a generous wine rep as compensation for yet another missed nap at the restaurant), but I'm kind of at a loss as to where to begin....
Start with the wine and the rest will sort itself out.
Garage Sales 2010 - Week 6

The May long weekend.
It's cool and depressing Saturday morning, and all of the listings are for either the deep south of the city or the far north.
A brief walk around the neighborhood turns up a single sign, following the arrow I end up nowhere. And that's garage sales for week 6. I go home and nap until work.
Sunday morning I found another sign, pointing at the same sale, and so I looked further - there's something just not right about a weekend without garage sales, and eventually, after much alley walking, found it. A sampling of comic books, some good antique typewriters (but I don't need a "good" one, I need one that's decrepit beyond repair...), some good movies (A Clockwork Orange, Dr. Strangelove, Miyazaki), but on VHS and I'd pick them up for the people at work, but they don't have VCR's. There's a giant agricultural scale, weighs up to 1600 lbs, but it weighs (in itself) 120 lbs and while it'd be a great ornament for my bathroom I have to be real....
All in all a bust.
