it began with me facing a huge excavation, deep pit on the ground, the teeth-marks from the excavator are still visible in the clay...
...as are any number of Egyptian Hieroglyphs, giant, carved or impressed into the mud/clay walls of the pit, this is to be a dam, this is the reservoir, they're just expanding it, making it bigger...
...and I'm explaining to whoever I'm with that probably we don't want to sleep on the edge of it, at least until they've filled it with water...
...and the excavator keeps digging, and in the banks of the reservoir open up caves, like the Anasazi used in our trip to Utah, and tombs and underground passages and cities that lead to places beyond what I can see....
Past the dam, a bunch of simple houses, brightly colored, built up like skyscrapers, one stacked upon the other, and pressing against one another forming as sort of bridge, a dozen or so brightly-colored houses bridging a deep valley, and I'm sitting in the middlemost one, with a girlfriend or my daughter (not sure, doesn't matter), we're trying to sleep, her head upon my chest, me explaining why I find this uncomfortable, not the head on my chest but the unsupported altitude, when the house breaks from it's supporting neighbor and falls, falls,...
...and I prepare myself for impact, for the hard-hitting death of the ground, when the house begins to slowly spring back upwards, it never hits the ground, and I quickly tumble out before it completes it's return, the row of houses, apparently, are threaded upon giant springs....
...and crawling out, find myself in a construction crawlspace, the half-story under the homes they fill with their rubbish, there are desk lamps, other bits of rubbish, and I'm going to have to crawl around to find an elevator to get out of here, I'm not hopeful, not from the half-story at least...
(Since arriving in the Kootenays I've had 2, 3 dreams per night, remembered, briefly, then forgot, none worth mentioning, this the only one that stayed with me...)

Following the election results - amazing. Thought he was a goner, but his victory is exposing every crack and chink, every flaw and worm in the system. The people have spoken and they've voted not for evil and competent, but evil and interesting, entertaining, and just maybe, just maybe...

What have we come to that this is the better of any two options? The Republicans, so riddled with misgivings and remorse over a clearly bad choice, are going through nothing compared to what the Democrats are going through...time to say it, folks, the system is broke...
I look forward to their introspection. John Oliver, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, SNL, anyone? This will be good. Prepare for an influx of quality entertainment, Canada...

...slept on the floor last night, bed dismantled, remarkably comfortable. The bed, a necessary convention, a prop to a non-existent social life, the bed, to the locker, I'll keep the floor...
Today, perhaps 2 or three final trips to the locker, then the massive cleaning of the apartment, not so massive, but I've been lethargic all week, postponing, procrastinating, doing as little as possible, and today is the day of reckoning, laundry, cleaning, etc. This freedom takes some getting used to, and the impending move puts a damper on all creative outlets.
The blog, naturally, will suffer until I discover a place to live, give me a week or two and it should resume...

...that my Uncle M*** and P** (both estranged) are in a white room, working on little dioramas, "Bow Tie Whales" they explain to me, and I can't understand, looking at what they've done, "Bow Whales? about 100 feet long" I ask, and they agree...
Now, in a submarine, following, harvesting, a diminishing school of fish, herded for us by the bow whales, time to surface, turn back, I suggest, there's an Asian woman, older, working the periscope, and she tells me that we are short our quota of 5 Bow Tie whales by - exactly - 5 Bow Tie whales, but I'm the captain and we can turn back if I insist...
