Cops. You know, this kind of abuse has become so prevalent we don't even raise an eyebrow anymore...a sure sign we're in trouble.

The Last story offers a bit of hope, after public outrage and a bit of intervention the money was returned to the rightful owner. But look what it takes to make cops realize what is right and what is wrong? And they're Cops? Clearly we need a new system. I say let the murderers and rapists out and have them run the policing. They'll have more basic decency...

Now, almost 4 weeks after his return from the old country he's beginning to assess the damage his daughter did. The nephew, he reports that his truck was stolen, not to the police, to me, he hid the keys, it was driven and somewhat trashed over the 3 weeks he was away.
...and there was the sink overflowing, overnight, which caused in the end $20 thousand dollars damage to the floor and ceiling below...
...and the thousands of dollars of liquor that was drunk and the fridge that was emptied...the nephew tells this story well, him putting the leftover pizza in the fridge late at night, then hearing, as if they're zombies, the creeping of hungry children upstairs...
...but this, well, it's a new discovery, the owner, he'd been buying up gold, laying it aside, an inheritance, legacy, for the daughter and her children. For all his children...but now he can't find it, it's all disappeared, 3 weeks she was there and she looted everything, he's in a mood for sure. "Call the Cops" I tell him, why not, he won't, they've lived their whole lives without consequence, repercussions or responsibility, why would he start now? And he thinks it was the grandchild, 15 years old, same age as my daughter, can't imagine it was his daughter...
Meet his daughter. It's not so hard to imagine. Hear the stories the nephew tells, even with his gift of gross exaggeration, you'll realize he's not making it up when you meet them...and the grandchildren? A generation of freeloaders, thieves, whores even more perfected...
Meanwhile, the nephew's telling stories of how his 15 year old cousin has taken to waiting for him in his bedroom...and how a new generation of welfare, thieves and whores will shortly be conceived....

The EU. Run by corporations, for corporations, and Bankrupt Greece? Well, don't worry, Spain, Portugal, Italy will be next...

You know what? Like any divorce this doesn't have to be a bad thing. Think of yourselves, people, and fuck the corporations. Government is "For the People, By the People", and when you read "Corporation" read "For the rich, by the rich". Leave it behind and move on, keep your noses down and you might just teach those Krauts a lesson...
A Certain Union Mentality

She's possessed of a certain Union Mentality, the new waitress. She tells me the minimum wage is going up. It doesn't matter, not to us, our income is tips, our wage is salary. And we can't argue that we're even close to minimum wage, we're not, minimum wage in the service industry would be the death of a lot of restaurants and small business. Maybe let the wait staff keep the tips and keep their minimum wage low...
She's new, and a bit nervous, breaking things, we gently tell her that we buy the glasses...a leftover from the days of G*** who in his nervousness would get drunk and then start breaking things, ..."That's illegal", she tells us, maybe so, but maybe be a little more careful...
Deliveries come, food, produce, liquor and wine. "I'm not going to put my back out to lift anything..." she tells us, then busies herself behind the bar polishing the same glasses she polished the day before. We're slow enough they haven't been used or washed.
She's one of those people who knows all of her rights, but none of her duties or responsibilities.
I met enough of these people in construction, the union guys who would do no more than they had to, would threaten to tell the union, the labour board, workman's comp, never the most popular guys, you'd never hire one but they would never show their flag until after they got the job. She's looking like one of those. She's found the wrong job, odd she hasn't sensed it, the owner's contempt is transparent, it doesn't matter, if she's not smart enough to figure it out she'll know when we bring in her replacement...
