In the realm of the more day-to-day treasures, a statistician out of Toronto cracks the Scratch Lottery Ticket Code, then turns over his findings to the lottery board because he calculates he can only make around $600.00 a day at it, and it isn't worth his while....
I almost wonder if the Lottery Board itself doesn't put out these news releases, knowing that the number of would-be ticket crackers will fill their pockets far more than the successful ones. I do know that even if he did crack the code, it's unlikely that there's been any great overhaul on the ticket printing process.

And finally it's here. A month of -20, -30 below, strangely out of season, it's light now until almost 8:00 PM but still the temperature's cold and now, finally, the temperature's shifted, +5, +10, a more seasonal spring. Snow disappears from the roads, the sidewalks, only strange and dirty heaps of ice at the side of driveways remind you of how long this winter has been. Finally spring. The heart leaps at the prospect. Soon it will be garage sale season...
