Still sick, fever, chills, congestion, general exhaustion. I've decided head & chest flu, sans vomiting or diarrhea, aching muscles, stiffness, back... 

Not the worst I've been by a long shot, but the dreams!!

I can't even describe them. Beyond the pale of description, no visuals, merely cryptic glimpses into places beyond the reach of imagery, words, sensory experience, that would make me think that I've crossed into another dimension, I can make no sense of them, eldritch horrors, indescribably abstract spaces off of the map of human experience, no imagery, people, sense, sheets a knot of sweat made into a rope that I must climb to wake up, find something to drink, go back to bed...

It will pass, but man-oh-man...

This, from the last restaurant I worked at. The owner, you remember, her son, JR, who didn't want to work, still isn't working, is collecting EI while he thinks about his next big move. I heard a rumour that The Liberal Party had asked him to run for their Federal Cabinet ??? This is beyond stupid. This is the state of the world. No surer way to lose an election than to run the most self-interested, least experienced and invested person you can find.

The owner, she was a smart one. You didn't have to ask, she'd tell you. I got along well enough with her, as donkey's do with the people that give them carrots, and then it was not the time to argue.

She recently posted on Facebook that everyone was misinterpreting Elon Musk's Nazi Salute as a Nazi Salute. That we all needed context. This, not because she believed it, but because her son (candidate for the Liberal Party) is a goose-stepping Musk enthusiast. And if JR is a fan it can't be bad. 

I'm presuming you've seen Musk's Sieg Heil, which was followed by a running series of "jokes" on X -

Stop Gőring your enemies!

His pronouns would’ve been He/Himmler!

followed by his speaking to the right wing party of Germany telling them they should not be ashamed of their fascist roots. 

This, coupled with his South African heritage, well...Yeah, sorry R****, that was a Nazi Salute, and he's not ashamed and not even trying to hide it. And that your son is bootlicking Nazi toad, well, you should know, and it's making me think it might be time for you to go for your early Alzheimer's screening.

The children of restaurateurs, almost invariably and without exception, are fucked up. When I worked in Calgary, at the fine Italian place, his children were the half-witted scions of privilege and entitlement, but he knew it, and cut them off from his life. He knew they were idiots, probably suspected his own involvement, but in no way defended them. And in Vancouver, the owner, he knew, but out of respect to Chef (and considerations, no doubt, given to your own employ) nobody mentioned. There was no speaking the quiet part out loud, everybody knew.    

But R****, R****, my god, is it Denial? That you are completely unable to see what is perpetually right in front of your face? I mean, I've never met anyone more deluded, less self-aware then yourself, and yet you consistently try and signal that "You're the smart one?" The only good thing that comes out of it all is that if even a quarter of the Nazi Party were as competent/determined/hard working as your son they never would have gotten out of Munich, would have passed out in their cups and been carried home by their mommies and nursed back to health.

Zuckerberg has stopped fact checking, to allow for the global spread of misinformation.

And Elon Musk owns twitter, to help promote the global spread of misinformation, with a far-right leaning skew.

Then there's this. Chatham Asset Management. An American Company that owns a 66% share in all of the following newspapers.

If you ever wondered why these newspapers continue, in mass, to complain about Trudeau and recommend Pierre Poilievre as the only choice in the upcoming election, this is why. Note how many newspapers they own in Alberta. Pierre Poilievre has no qualifications, has been "compromised" by the Russians, and - with no experience and a treasonous nature that is second hand and makes him a shoe-in for Canada's Sycophant in waiting; they will continue to espouse him as the "only choice". Mark Carney, with a list of qualifications that would make most Presidents and World Leaders envious, is advertised as being an "inside liberal". 

None of this is true, but we've allowed the Americans to infiltrate and control our media - almost entirely, and so while you'll never find a Canadian Owned News Outlet endorsing or even considering Poilievre - or Smith - their base is dependant almost entirely on US owned media, which have proven as adept as trolling as the Russians.

Anyways, if you want accurate, unbiased Canadian owned news, well, your list of options is considerably shorter:

We're in trouble. If your getting your news from anywhere not on this list you're being played. Alternatively, there are some good, relatively unbiased newspapers abroad, but most of them aren't paying attention to Canadian Politics.
