For Sale: Pair of character stuffed wingbacked armchairs.
Price: $65.00. I've left room to dicker.
Reason for selling: I'm going for a slightly more casual look.
These 2 elegantly crafted arm chairs will raise the tone of any contemporary living room.
They represent the near perfect marriage of comfort and style, neither as comfortable as a LazyBoy, but nowhere near as ugly, yet not quite as uncomfortable or aesthetically pleasing as a set of Queen Anne Pearwood chairs. Not in such fine condition that you'll feel the need to cover them with plastic slip-covers, they have that "lived in, comfortable" look that often passes for "Shabby Chic" or "Distressed", but I assure you that any distress that they've undergone is entirely original and genuine and not inflicted in any way by some pretentious designer or interior decorator.

I really like them but don't need a pair of matching wing-backed vintage armchairs, what else could I do with them?
Funny you should ask that as I've been pondering that same question myself. You would be the "Enfant Terrible" of the art world with these babies, on their own they could pass as Conceptual or Found Art, with titles like "Rocket Chair" or "One too many bean sandwiches" and doubtless would be the anchor point of any exhibition at the Art Gallery of Calgary. You're career would be launched. I'd do it myself but I've not time for the fame and adulation that will doubtless accompany their display.
I've also heard that Gunther von Hagens is looking for furniture to plastinate and accompany his shows, if true these chairs would be excellent candidates.

Can I recover them?
If you're one of those people that likes things looking brand new and fresh from the store then that's definitely what you should do. On the other hand I don't want to see you on the "Antiques Roadshow" 6 months or a year from now showing off your handiwork then hearing from the appraiser that they're worth $10,000 each but if you hadn't refinished them they'd have been worth a million...

Note: I'm in Saturday's early afternoon and Sunday's by appointment. Bring a truck as there's no way you'll wanna leave these babies behind.
